The message I hope to convey in my art is one of affirming life through images… beautiful, graceful, imaginative, and full of possibility. ~ Kim Robbins

Digital Photographer and Painter

Kim Robbins is a former fashion model who has worked all over the United States and Europe. After her modeling career, she worked as a makeup artist and stylist in commercial advertising, all the while working towards launching her fine art digital photography and painting career.

A Passion for the Arts

I started drawing in elementary school, developing a passion for the arts at an early age. Dance, painting, and theater were present in all aspects of my life.

I attended Trinity University and Oklahoma University in the 70s, majoring in Art and Sociology. In the late 70s, I moved to Dallas and began a fifteen year career as a commercial fashion model that began with the cover and editorial spread for Town & Country Magazine. I worked for clients in Texas, New York, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and South America. Living abroad was an education in the arts. I transitioned from modeling to onset styling and makeup as well as painting large canvas backdrops for clients like Neiman Marcus.

Southwest Galleries and Non-Profits

In 1981 I married my high school sweetheart, Peter Robbins. Together and separately we have pursued the different facets of our photographic careers.

My work has been in galleries in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. I continue to participate in shows that give support to various nonprofit organizations.

A Style of Her Own

I am a digital photographer and painter. My subjects vary from people to scenes in nature to abstract art. I translate my work from the camera to a digital environment where I use image editing to perform darkroom type manipulations. When I paint, I use acrylics on canvas. This work has more of an abstract focus. I print my own work using high quality pigment ink printers to create fine art prints. Equally important to my process is the vision of line, form, color, composition, and rhythm that create my style.

Home Life

Kim resides in Fort Worth, with her husband Peter Robbins who is a Cowboy Artist and Photographer.  She and Peter have been blessed with two wonderful sons who are pursuing their own creative paths.
