“Photographing landscapes in Maine puts me in places that I can confidently say have not changed in thousands of years. Admittedly, some of my shots are a bit more modern, but my favorites are the sprawling natural scenes where I know that my great-great grandfather could have stood in the same spot, took the same deep breath, and felt the same immense gratitude.”

Main Legacy

Nick began his work as a landscape photographer in 2018, and since then, has been featured by Yankee Magazine, Coastal Living Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Downeast Magazine, Acadia National Park, and the Departments of Tourism for Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, to name a few. He’s not afraid to brave a blizzard or some rough waves to get the “shot”. If you ever visit Maine, you’ll likely find him half-heartedly tossing a fly line in a local trout stream, searching for the next great photo opp!

“My landscape photography work you see here in Maine is inspired by my family’s history. The Staples family settled near Kittery in 1640 and have spread all over the state since. One of my ancestors was even the architect of Casco Bay’s Fort Gorges!”
