“The winters here in southern Oklahoma are the best of both worlds. Our numberless greens are changed into a myriad of ochers and browns. The landscape, to me, becomes richer in texture and a warm melancholy provides a much needed slowing of life. We have an interesting variety of weather that makes it difficult to fall into apathy. My paintings are an effort to prevent my falling into that apathy, and hopefully help others miss that dungeon.”

Paul Walsh is a graduate of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He has a B.A. inĀ ArtĀ and a M.A. inĀ ArtĀ Education. After serving in the Army during the Viet Nam War, he returned to central Oklahoma where he taughtĀ artĀ in the public schools for forty years. His last thirty-five years were spent at Sulphur High School.Ā
A Full Time Artist
He has recently retired and paints full time.Ā He also teaches painting classes several times a year at the Goddard Center.Ā Ā
He and his wife, of forty-six years, live in the small town of Roff, Oklahoma.
